Purpose: The purpose of this work was to provide a persuasive presentation highlighting a current issue impacting an organization. Innovative and creative tools were used to deliver opposing positions regarding the impact organized youth sports have on children. Persuasive speaking techniques were used, and effective listening skills were modeled to align my words and tone to meet the audience needs. Though views may differ, the delivery of a message must include approaches that aim to connect people, ideas, and solutions.

Why I Selected This Artifact: This artifact comes from OL 625 and aligns with program learning outcome number three, developing an individual awareness, style, and communication skills to make complex strategic decisions. Throughout this artifact, I was able to identify and analyze while organized youth sports appear unattainable across many communities, my experiences and knowledge can inspire others to make connections and promote changes within their organizations. By sharing my purpose with others, relationships are formed with trust, clarity, and intent.

Program Learning Outcome and Course Objective: The artifact shared meets the course objective and program learning outcomes by demonstrating the impact creative and adaptive strategies have on promoting positive change and innovation. By focusing on the development of awareness, style and communication skills, leaders will create an organizational culture centered around diversity and inclusion. Through analysis, leaders that strive to create strong relationships with others through collaborative approaches influence the organization’s culture and future success.
