Through examination, this study demonstrates that a combination of process and relationship-building is needed to help people and organizations grow.

Why I Selected This Artifact: This artifact comes from OL 644 and aligns with program learning outcome number nine, activating self-directed strategies for continued personal and professional learning. I was able to identify and analyze why employees are leaving the field of education, and strategic approaches Educator ABC leaders must adopt when offering professional development to current staff. By modeling professional behaviors and communication, leaders will demonstrate their understanding of employee needs, thus improving the employee’s desire to develop professionally and personally.

Program Learning Outcome and Course Objective: The artifact shared meets the course objective and program learning outcomes by demonstrating the impact effective self-guided strategies have on the continuation of personal and professional learning. By evaluating current recruitment and retention strategies, leaders can work to make a connection between talent management and leadership development. This helps leaders become better equipped to face organizational changes and growth.
